Periodicals are for Freshmen

So today Rachel and I scoured the entire first floor of the library (which Rachel says is for married people, hard core studiers, and Summer) in search of  a secret study spot.  The only thing we found was a freshly painted room which Rachel proceeded to get high off of.  There were some cool cubicle type places to study, but nothing spectacular.
So after having wasted about 20 minutes of our lives skulking around and whispering, we decided to call it a day and head to the periodicals to get some studying in.  Also, Rachel and I concluded that the periodicals are for freshmen - heck, we thought it was the bomb diggity last year!  Anyways, we found a cool little cove off to the side and hunkered down for a study sesh.  The conveniences of this study cove are: comfy black leather chairs, and footstool, bookshelves to your side for excess stowage, a nearby trashcan, and last but most definitely not least, a fire extinguisher above my right shoulder - who knows when that will come in handy!?!!!

So yeah.  Although our hunt for the prime parking spot in the HBLL is still unfulfilled, we still have four more levels to search :) happy studying!!

Between the Books

I recently realized that whenever I study on campus, I tend to always resort to the row of cubicles in the library.  I was getting sick of it! So I recently made a challenge to find a new/fun/cozy/comfy spot to study on campus every day.  Right now I am studying in a spot I have never studied before, and hope to never have to study at ever again.  I was in desperate need to get online to send an email.  However my laptop was about to die.  So I had to find a place indoors (even though its a beautiful day out) near an outlet.  Let me tell ya, its hard to find an unoccupied outlet here in the HBLL!  I resorted to an outlet located on a column in the middle of a row of books.

So, my new study spot for today is on the floor between rows of books on "The Economic Origins of Jeffersonian Democracy".  Hmmm, neither interesting or appealing in my opinion.  But, it is kind of fun because I feel like I am the only one here!
Anyhow, I give this spot a thumbs down because I have only been here for about 15 minutes (my typical library sesh is 2 to 3 hours) and my bum is numb :)

knock knock.
Who's There?

Snow for May Day

so this is my first project of the summer.  it is a headband! woot!  i ripped three pieces of fabric and then braided them together! i only broke two of my moms Bernina sewing needles in the process (which she does not know about, and will not know about for a long time).  but it is complete, and i am preparing my outfit for tomorrow around it :)

today is may day, and los alamos got snow.  hmmm, i am starting to second guess that "trusted" groundhog and his predictions.  all i know is that i want some heat!!!

tomorrow is my first day of work at Hot Rocks Cafe.  hopefully they will finally teach me what a "double shot soy whipped mocha short latte with room" is so that i can satisfy the endless streams of caffeine-addicted customers.  but for now, i sill stick with asking "red or green on your breakfast burrito??"

well i am beat, and moving my fingers across my laptop keypad is just draining me haha (p.s. Knock Knock.  Who's there?  Dwain.  Dwain who? DWAIN THE BAFTUB IM DWONING!)

salutations!

Perfect Two

You might think the title of my first blog is referring to my new favorite song "Perfect Two" by Auburn, but in reality, I am talking about just completing my first, perfect, two semesters at BYU.  Look out for further info on the best freshman year EVER!
